Welcome to Flying C Lofts

Small loft with good results!

      Welcome

   To Flying C Lofts

Located in Winchester, Ind. Once dubbed as having the fastest 1/2 mile track in the world. Now at Flying C lofts it is home to a family of pigeons that are the fastest in the world, the Staff Van Reets.

I have a small loft which contain  under 15 pairs of breeders. I work on quality of the pigeons.  Each year I work to bring better pigeons into the breeding loft. My main family comes down from Staff Van Reet  bred pigeons. My other family is down from Casaert's which I have three pairs. I also have a Steven Van Breeman cock and a inbred Super crack 699 hen.

I started in the hobby of racing pigeons in the fall of 2000. I started breeding my pairs in single breeding pens from day one. I wanted to know which breeders were producing the best babies. I have culled breeders every year.

The first Casaert's I bought  from Frank McLaughlin. I  have also bought, traded and bred a hen with a Casaert cock  from Mike Anderson. Mike Anderson kept a cock from this pair. From this cock Mike Anderson sent babies to South Africa one loft race. One of the babies sent to South Africa was top 20 average of the race series until the last three races. In 2008 a baby from this cock was sent to the Gulf Coast Classic. This hen was 22nd against 2227 birds. Her number is 1149 a BBSP.  My Casaert family is based on the Phenix a son of Casaert's number one breeder THE BRONZE.   In 2004 I had one hen that was 6th at 100 miles against 118 birds. Then 4th at 200 miles against 82 birds. In the GNEO futurity she was 140th against 977 birds.

My main family I am working on now is down from Staff Van Reet. I started this Family with the purchase of one breeding pair. I crossed these onto the Casaert family. The young from these flew better then anything that I had before. This is when I started looking for proven breeders or Van Reets that have trained out or raced. I have bought a few from Sleepy Hollow Lofts in New York. My latest Van Reets have come from Mel's loft in New York.  Through Mel I have bought Remus bred direct from the loft of Staff Van Reet. Mel also threw in a young bird with the purchase of Remus, True Blue. Then I bought the Spring Break Hen. Dam of the 09 Spring Break futurity winner. Then I had the chance to buy SVR Cruiser. This cock is from Great Britain, raced in Great Britain. He finished with a race record of 3 1st and 5 2nd place wins. With the purchase of Cruiser, Mel also sent a cock called Magnum a Steven Van Breeman bred bird.

The  two futurity's that I try to make every year are the GNEO and the MVS (Miami Valley Sportsman club).  I have a friend that flies my Gneo futurity birds. He is not in the best spot for this race. He is the only one I can find that will fly my birds. My pigeons do good at the club races from his loft. Scoring top 10 percent. 09 we had a winner at 150 miles. With most futurity races if you do not have Ganus bred pigeons they do not want your birds in their loft. They say Ganus bred pigeons win 90 percent of the races. This may be true, but 90 percent of the pigeon hobby has Ganus birds.

I do not bred hundreds of pigeons at Flying C Lofts. I do not sell a pigeon for thousand's of dollars. I work on giving your loft a boost with out breaking your wallet.
